Medical and Health Services Managers
Medical and health services managers plan, direct or coordinate medical and health services in hospitals, clinics, managed care organizations, or similar organizations. Through review and analysis, managers may help reduce risk and improve service.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is necessary for entry-level positions. Health administration, health information systems, managed care and health policy are emphasized in the degree programs. Students of health administration at the baccalaureate level also study management theory and develop skills needed to manage budgets, supervise staff and develop programs in a health care facility.
