Resources for Volunteers
Connect With A Career As A Volunteer
One of the best ways to know whether a job is right for you is to see what it involves up-close. Hospitals and other health care providers offer volunteer opportunities that can help you see health care in action. Whether helping answer phones, delivering supplies or spending a day job shadowing, there are lots of ways to learn more about how health care organizations function by volunteering.
“Volunteering at Northeast Regional Medical Center has helped me realize the effect that one individual can make on the lives of many. From fulfilling my volunteer duties to meeting the people in the community, every experience at NERMC has helped me develop as a student, as well as a person.” – Melissa Tran, Truman State University
“The best thing about volunteering is the people. I have an opportunity to meet people of all ages, backgrounds and experiences. A day doesn’t go by that I haven’t learned something new. Helping someone is the best medicine for me without taking a pill.” – Patricia Cameron, volunteer at Saint Francis Medical Center
