Career Description

Instructors teach about nursing in classrooms and clinical settings. Nursing instructors lead, develop and organize teaching programs. They keep informed about developments in the field of nursing and may collaborate with other faculty to address teaching and research issues.

Academic Requirements

Most positions require a master’s degree or even a doctoral degree in nursing or a related field, along with a current R.N. license. It is important for nursing instructors to have at least a year of medical/surgical experience in order to teach.
